ROSE PICTURES
ROSA MUNDI is an image of my favorite rose. The exact origin is unknown and some rosarians feel it is a sport of R. Gallica Officinalis. I wish it bloomed more than once a year but its beauty makes it a worthwhile addition to any garden. I have won numerous awards for best Old Garden Rose (created prior to 1868) at rose shows when I entered it. It probably dates from the 1500’s. I love the story that has been circulated that it was named for the mistress of King Henry II, Fair Rosamund. Gallicas are the oldest of the garden roses, having been grown by the Greeks and Romans.
OLD COUNTRY CHARM is a miniature rose that one day looked so beautiful I took a picture of it.
GOLDEN CELEBRATION is an image of one of David Austin’s many shrub or “English Roses” growing in our garden.
PHOEBE’S CHOICE is one of my miniature rose creations. LITTLE DARLING X OVER THE RAINBOW; 38 pointed petals; exhibition form; no fragrance; bushy growth; 1987.
JACK’S FANTASY is one of my miniature rose creations. LITTLE DARLING X OVER THE RAINBOW; 21petals; slight fragrance; exhibition form; medium growth, 1986.
